Introduction
I like nature and I also like to go out a lot so when I go out I go to parks most. I think the country side has loads of nice landscapes and also places where there are loads of cliffs. I think people take pictures of landscapes because it’s really nice, especially people that travel to places. I think photographs can change the way we see things for example, I may want to go to a place but have no idea of what it looks like so we can use photographs to show things.
The first thing that comes into my mind when I hear the word landscape is a large place with a nice view and the bright sky. Google search, landscape; 'all the visible features of an area of land, often considered in terms of their aesthetic appeal'.
My ideal landscape would be a huge bit of river and some buildings and loads of trees with a sunset. When I look outside my bedroom I can see two trees, a grassland and some other houses. I have taken landscape pictures before and I enjoyed it, when I take them I usually take sunsets with the sky and just normal views from outside.

In School Landscape Pictures
I took these photos in school after answering the questions and I took these on my phone camera outside school, neat the basketball court.
I like these pictures because you can see the sky and some buildings along with the floor.
To improve next time I would make sure that there are no unnecessary things for example the bins, benches lamp posts and the houses in the back.

Constructed Landscapes Homework
This is my first piece of homework for Constructed landscapes and I took these pictures in Blackheath on the the field on a sunny day, these pictures were taken on my mobile phone. I like these pictures because you can see the clouds in the sky and the green field. Another reason I liked this photoshoot is because you can see the houses and buildings in the background.
Next time, to improve, I will try to make sure that I don’t capture any lamp posts or any other signs/poles.

Reconstructing Landscapes
Roger Fenton - The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death, 1855The artist has made sure that the image is not very busy, you can only see the land and the sky. The picture looks like it was taken from a straight angle but it seems to be like a hill so it appears low.I think that the photographer was standing at a wide landscape so its really far and wide. The mood of this photograph can be dull and boring, I think this because there is nothing important standing out in the photo, its just plain and boring.

In School Photos
In this project, we had to take pictures that weren’t perfect so I went outside with my partner and started doing the opposite of what I usually do to get a good picture for example I took my pictures at weird angles so they’re not straight and made sure that the lighting wasn’t good
Evaluation
In this project I printed my homework and cut out a template then we went outside to take the pictures with the template in the air so the background so the clouds could replace the ones I cut out previously. I didn’t cut out the clouds in shape properly because I thought I would run out of time so i cut them out in circles instead.
I think that next time I can cut out in more detail and while we were outside taking the pictures the wind was blowing the paper around so it was bending and we couldn’t take the pictures that well.

Out of Focus Homework
In my out of focus landscapes homework I partly struggled because at first my camera wasn’t focusing which wasn’t the point so I was struggling with making it how I needed to. So I took the photos I was able to and it was partly the sky and partly the top of a tree This was in the first shoot, I had to do a second shoot because my photos weren’t enough. In the second part I saw a sunset so I got my phone out and took the out of focus photos and I think they turned out really cool.
Evaluation
Me and my partner came up with the idea of making colourful cube shapes and then placing them onto a backdrop. Firstly, we picked out colourful landscape pictures then before started making the cubes we picked out a youtube video to help us and practiced making a test cube to start off. After that we started using the pictures with loads of colour to make the colourful shapes, then I went and looked up a landscape picture to use as my backdrop and printed it. Lastly I went with my partner to set up how we will take the pictures then took them on the school cameras.
Bill Armstrong
I like Bill Armstrongs photographs because they are out of focus but still show off the colour of the place he is taking pictures of. My favourite photo is the 8th one because although you cant see whats actually going on I can still tell there is some sort of three pictures which have been combined to make one. Even though we cant see the actual photograph I can say this because I can see the faint lines separating the individual pictures.
Interrupted Landscape Pictures
In this photoshoot I made and used ready props to make an interrupted landscape. We had to take a picture of a normal landscape then use the props to cover a bit of the landscape, this was the interrupted part, most of my props had transparent material with colours so I used them to make it more interesting.
In Class Project
In this lesson we had to pick on of our favourite pictures from the previous lesson and use the projector to make it bigger, then me and my partner got my teachers help to set up what looked like the shadows of buildings in a landscape. Then we photographed them so we couldn’t see the object but can see the shadows.
I think that these two images are very different from each other. I think I prefer the right one because it's made to give a garden sense whereas the left one is more straight up and the picture is straight up there to show. The thing I find most interesting
Landscape Collage 'Negatives'
When making this landscape collage image I cut out shapes from black card but left out the middle instead of the outside then I stuck it onto white paper then cut out little pieces of black to make little details in the 'trees' and 'sky'. With these images we go into the dark room and invert them so the negative is now a positive. So the black is
- Describe what you can see and what might be missing from both of these landscape photographs
- Describe what you find surprising and/or unusual about each of them?
- Explain how you feel when you look at each of these pictures?
- Explain how you would attempt to make pictures like these.
- Suggest why you think each artist has removed parts of the landscape.
- Explain which of these pictures you prefer and why?
- Experiment with several different techniques for creating landscape photographs in which parts of the image have been removed.
Negatives evaluation
During this lesson we used the dark room and made negatives using light sensitive paper, first we lined up the paper so that the photograph could be seen in the end. Then we put it under the enlarger (the main light source) for 10 seconds. After this we took it to the chemicals which we had to soak the paper in and followed the order of steps in the end we had to hang up the paper to dry up.
Constructed Landscapes - My Personal Response
Week1: During this project we are picking work and researching different photography work, then we are independently going to make our own versions of it by using their ideas and creating our own images by ourselves. I am doing research and i picked out a few of the pictures I have liked but I'm not yet sure how I'll do my actual final piece. I think that Ill get a bunch of photos I have and make a 'reconstructed landscape' by printing out pictures then mixing them up to make new landscape pictures.
Week2: During the last lesson I selected around four photos from my camera roll that I had previously taken, these were all sunset photos. I cut them out into rectangles and started rearranging them so that each of the photos. had a different photo between them, My plan for next lesson is that I stick with a patten then glue the photos in the order so that it could look like the work I have used for inspiration from the artists.

Making Day Experiments
In this making day, I explored Sunset pictures. At the start of the whole Constructed Landscapes topic I enjoyed taking pictures outside because they were to do with landscape photos. Looking at this in photography lessons made me change my views on what a landscape photo actually is. A few lessons in I researched about landscapes and liked this one set of art then I used it to think of my own ways to make new landscapes. The threshold concept I think I used mostly is #1-'Photography has many genres, some old, some borrowed, some new.' I think this because it literally explains my work, borrowing ideas and using photographs from the past to make new things in the present.
